First things first, we've all heard the saying 'Tidy home, tidy brain' and while we can't all live a life of minimalism (particularly not when your partner insists on leaving their stinky sports kit on the bedroom floor as their idea of home fragrance) clearing out belongings that haven't been touched in years (cue fluff alert) and organising everything that has been allowed to remain into
a) the right room
b) sensible and accessible storage
will not only help you find the toiletries in time so you're not late for work in the morning, but also helps soothe the mind.
As a rule of thumb designers recommend 20% of space in a room should be allocated to storage in one form or another.
You've heard the mantra 'A place for everything and everything in it's place' - give it a go, it might seem like a lot of effort at first but you'll be amazed at how calm your mind will become when everything has a home of its own.
